ACT supports Cambridge University Hospitals (including Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie Hospital) by providing funding for extras over and above NHS budgets to make a difference for patients.
Cambridge University Hospitals
Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) is one of the largest and best known trusts in the country. The 'local' foundation trust for our community delivering care through its hospitals Addenbrooke's and the Rosie; CUH is also a leading national centre for specialist treatment; a government-designated comprehensive biomedical research centre; one of only five academic health science centres in the UK, and a university teaching hospital with a worldwide reputation. Building on these different elements, CUH's vision is to be one of the best academic healthcare organisations in the world. The Trust's priorities focus on a quality service which is all about people – patients, staff and partners. Its values – kind, safe and excellent – are at the heart of patient care, defining the way the Trust works and behaves.
Patients
CUH is a 1,000 bed teaching hospital that sees around 700,000 patients admissions per year. It provides acute and specialist healthcare services for our local and regional population. Its philosophy of care explores smarter more efficient ways of working and puts its patients at the centre of this care. ACT's aim is to make a difference for these patients by providing additonal state-of-the-art equipment, specialist staff, environmental enahncements and research to support patient care.
