Patient care

WHAT WE DO AND WHY

Our Commitment to Excellence

Surgeons

As the independent registered charity for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Addenbrooke's and the Rosie Hospitals, ACT is dedicated to making a difference to improve the experience of patients, their families and the staff who care for them.

Whether it’s treatment for an emergency, a chronic condition or long-term illness, we believe that every patient deserves the very highest quality of care. After all, it's likely that most of us – or our nearest and dearest – will be patients one day, which is when we'd give anything for the best medical attention available.

How Charitable Support Adds Value

Crawford Dew

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond what NHS funding alone can deliver and make projects happen sooner or to a greater degree than might have otherwise been possible. Charitable donations fund high-tech equipment, specialist staff, extra comforts and vital research to find potential cures and help save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.

Evolving to Meet New Challenges

BenHere at ACT our role is constantly evolving. From running capital campaigns and appeals to community fundraising and legacy giving, our work has a wide and expanding scope as part of a strategic and professionally managed fundraising programme. In our capacity as a charitable trust, we manage around 300 funds for all departments, wards and clinics, ensuring that money is invested and disbursed to maximise the benefits for patients.
